Traditional American music has experienced a huge resurgence over the past few years and banjos can be heard on recordings in a diverse range of musical genres. Rock, jazz, country, and of course, bluegrass players, will love the new series of Fender banjos, each offering features for any level of player, from beginner to pro. There's a Fender Banjo for everyone. 

Recording King's Bluegrass Series RK-R20 Songster Banjo is a great resonator banjo model, with its sharp attack and minimal sustain. The RK-R20 banjo features a mother-of-pearl peghead inlay and heart-shaped position markers, plus a rolled brass, hoop tone ring, planetary tuners, and a bound rosewood fretboard.

Superb value mastertone Style 5-String Banjo ideal for bluegrass. The rim is built from solid rock maple blocks that are then turned on a lathe to a diameter of 279.40mm (11”) and a thickness of 19.05mm (3/4”). The heavy 1.58kg (31/2 lb) 11” Mastertone-style, flat-top bell brass tone ring is fitted to the rim. The tone ring is drilled out with eighteen small diameter holes on the inner circumference in the ‘Gibson-style’. A cast brass flange is fitted with 24 bracket hooks to give firm and even tension on the tension hoop. A double bracketed, engraved armrest is fitted. The tailpiece is the ‘Gibson-style’ Clamshell type. All metal work is heavily nickel plated to a very high standard. A milky 11” diameter Remo ‘weatherking’ plastic head is fitted (top side coated) along with an ebony tipped 15.87mm (5/8”) maple bridge. Four nickel-plated resonator thumbscrews are provided to attach the resonator. The resonator is constructed from maple with an attractive ‘tiger tail’ flame maple veneer. It has a convex back inlaid with ivory/black rings and is fully bound in matching ivory/black colour binding. The maple is stained in the pre-war ‘Gibson-style’ brown mahogany and is clear lacquered and highly polished.
